We recently celebrated our 12th anniversary with a road trip through the desert. Here are our favorite bites and libations from the adventure!
Twentynine Palms
We happened upon this gem on our way from Lake Havasu to Palm Springs. Kitchen in the Desert is everything that is right about California; friendly, chill folks, funky desert decor, and farm fresh eats.
Palm Springs
This was our first time in Palm Springs, and we absolutely loved it. There was so much to see, eat, and drink!
Our favorite by far was the charming deliciousness of Bar Cecil. The succinct menu was brimming with possibilities, we were beyond happy with our choices.
Kimpton is one of our favorite hotel chains. We stayed at The Rowan and enjoyed the craft cocktails by the pool at High Bar (on the rooftop). Cheers, indeed.
Many moons ago in Tampa Bay I had a blog focused solely on books and sandwiches. So, I am always on the lookout for a great sando or read. We found the best kind of sandwiches at Sherman's. The menu was a little overwhelming, I think Spencer and I both panic-ordered. The great news is...I don't think you can go wrong with this menu as everything is made in house. Since it has been around for decades, they have the recipes down to a fine science.
An honorable mention goes out to Spencer's, because obviously. The service here was great!
Temeculah
We spent our anniversary at the gorgeous South Coast Winery Resort and Spa. Their onsite restaurant is the Vineyard Rose. While the food here is not my favorite, the service is impeccable and my sweet husband found a Grasshopper on their dessert drink menu, and that old soul was pretty pleased.
Have you celebrated an anniversary with a road trip?
