Quiet on the Set. Action!

We love going to the movies, it is one of our favorite low-key date nights. Sometimes, a movie or a show will dip into our real lives.

Amelie

This French film is one of our favorites. It is quirky, romantic, and lovely. The soundtrack is by Yann Tiersen, and 'our' song is Comptine d'un autre été, l'après-midi (fun fact: I walked down the aisle to Spencer's version of this song, and he plays it for me when we see a piano in the wild.

You can visit Café des Deux Moulins in Paris (Montmartre), the restaurant from the movie. The food was outstanding and we absolutely loved this experience.

Fried Green Tomatoes

When we lived in Brookhaven during residency, Spencer usually had one day off per week. If the stars aligned and I had a day off from teaching, we would sometimes take a little road trip to explore our new surroundings.

I love the movie FGT. I have seen it too many times to count. You can visit Juliette, Georgia and sample all of the good things at The Whistle Stop Cafe.

Sex and the City

My all-time favorite show is SATC. To this day I quote it on a weekly basis. On our first trip to France, Spencer booked a dinner for us at Kong (in the two-part finale, Carrie meets Aleksandr's ex here.) It was EXACTLY how I imagined it!
